Christian Faith in a postChristian World
Much of the world’s cultures have moved far beyond any understanding of the Christian faith. Europe & North America, once bastions of Christianity, are now as syncretistic & agnostic as anyone might imagine. Christians need to rethink what it means to live out their Christian faith in the context of this postChristian society. We need to learn to express our faith in ways that normal people can understand. Christian Faith in a postChristian World is designed to help you in your learning process.
Communicating Clearly: understanding to be understood
Huh!?! Genuine Communication takes work. To communicate clearly takes understanding; understanding takes listening. We need to understand our audience, or simply one other person, in their context, in their mindset; and they need to understand us in ours. Communicating Clearly is designed to help you listen…, and learn. If you want to get your point across then you need to learn to listen intently.
Faith Filters: how your personality filters your faith
We’re different: all of us. A great deal of our differences can be attributed to the way God made us. He intentionally made us different so we could fulfill different functions in Christ’s Body. It can be said, therefore, that the personality God gave you (unless you’re just obnoxious) filters the faith He also gave you. Faith Filters: how your personality filters your faith helps you understand the personality you have and how it fits in the church, your family, and into the rest of our society.
Learning to Love: maybe again…, or for the first time
Love takes on different meaning in every relationship. Father-son, mother-daughter, husband-wife, dating, married, divorced, young, old. Love brings great happiness…, and great pain. Love is fun, play, building together: love is hard work, goes through tough times, and sometimes shatters lives into pieces. If you need to learn to love, for the first time, again, or have just forgotten how to, join us in Learning to Love.
Transitions: pulling the pieces together again
Change. Ever present; ever changing. We all go through them, whether we want to or not. Some of us adapt to them better than others; they’ve learned to let go, make choices, grasp hold of the new. Throughout life we enter one new phase after another, some with great anticipation, some with lingering pain or hesitation. We call the space between the phase’s transitions—and there’s the rub. If you need help pulling the pieces of life together again, then join us for a Transitions course.
UpGrading Your Faith: keeping your faith on track with your life
If your Christian faith is the same as it was when you first became a follower of Christ, well, something’s not right. Why? Because we all grow and change throughout our lives. We are exposed to new information and must do something with it. Our personal lives grow and develop; there also, must our faith grow and develop to keep on track with the rest of our lives. Otherwise, we will simply leave our faith behind. If you need an upgrade to your faith, UpGrading Your Faith might just be want you’re looking for.
